From hard problems to working technology.
Sigil R&D is a technology research and development company focused on problems that existing software fails to address. We apply rigorous research and engineering to develop proprietary software products and bespoke systems for businesses.
01 / Method
From research to working software
Every project, whether a proprietary product or a bespoke system for a client, follows the same three disciplines.
Stage 1
Research
Rigorous analysis of the problem before any code is written: the work involved, its dependencies and the constraints a solution must satisfy.
Stage 2
Engineering
Systems designed to behave predictably under failure and to remain maintainable as requirements change.
Stage 3
Development
Delivery into production and continued development, for our proprietary products and for the systems we build for clients.
02 / Product
SousEarly access
A last-minute call-out leaves a manager working out who could cover, contacting people one at a time and updating the schedule, often in the middle of service.
When someone can't make a shift, Sous finds teammates who can cover, texts them the offer from the business's own number, and confirms the first qualified yes. Call-outs are covered without tying up a manager.
- Finds who can cover
- Offers by text
- Confirmed automatically
- No app for staff
03 / Principles
How we work
The principles that govern our products and client work. More about Sigil R&D
01
Problem before technology
Every project begins with a precise understanding of the problem and the people it affects.
02
Reduce the labour behind routine work
Software should absorb repetitive, time-consuming work so that skilled staff can focus where they add value.
03
Engineer for the failure cases
Software that businesses depend on must behave predictably when conditions are not ideal.
04
Precision in what we claim
We describe only what our software does today and clearly label what remains in development.
